The application portal for admission to Princeton University is currently open. Students who wish to study at Princeton can apply on or before the deadline. Refer to the deadline as follows. Before applying for university admission, you must scan all required documents and put them on your disk. Ensure all documents are uploaded to be certain you have completed the application. I will guide you through the application process.

Documents to Have Before Applying to Princeton University

Before you start the application, ensure you scanned copies of;

1. Academic Transcript
2. School Report (SR) from the Coalition Application or Common Application website must be filled out by your academic counsellor.
3. Counsellor Recommendation.
4. Two (2) Teacher Recommendations.
5. SAT or ACT.
6. SAT Subject Tests.
7. TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic scores.

Finding Course

Princeton University has numerous courses and students are encouraged to explore the curriculum of many disciplines and to develop a deep understanding in one area of concentration. Students apply to Princeton University, not to individual departments, programs or schools. Once enrolled, students may pursue either the Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) or the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.). Within these degree programs, students can choose from among 37 concentrations (computer science offers both A.B. and B.S.E.) and over 50 minors and interdepartmental certificate programs. The A.B. includes concentrations in Public Policy (Princeton School of Public and International Affairs) and the School of Architecture.

Deadline

The Princeton University Application window is set to begin mid-August and May 1 of every cycle. It is good to apply before the deadline. The Degree Seeking Applicants can apply for Fall 2025 is now open. The Nondegree Applicants can also apply for  Spring 2025. How to Apply

To apply, you will need to submit the Coalition Application or the Common Application and the Princeton-specific Questions. You can apply to Princeton as a first-year student through single-choice early action or regular decision. Transfer applicants must apply through the transfer process. Before you begin preparing your application, we encourage you to review our standardized testing policy and review our helpful tips.

For your application to be completed, you must follow the three (3) steps of application; Submit, Request and Report.

Ensure you have scanned copies of the necessary documents before beginning the application. If you have all the documents ready,

1. Visit the Coalition Application or Common Application Portal
2. Apply online. The Princeton’s CEEB Code is 2672
3. Pay the Application Fee. If you are among the low-income students category, submit a Fee Waiver application. Although, all applicants who are serving or have served in the U.S. military are eligible for the Princeton-specific fee waiver. If you use the Princeton-specific fee waiver, you do not need to get approval from your college counsellor or academic adviser.
4. Submit a graded written paper, preferably in the subjects of English or history.
5. Request and Report all other supporting documents.

Checking Admission Status/Offer

If you have successfully applied, it is time to keep checking the portal and email to be certain you have accepted the admission offer. Visit the application portal with your provided login information and tap the check admission status.

Applying as an International Student

How to Apply for Financial Aid

1. Complete the Princeton Financial Aid Application
   • The Princeton Financial Aid Application is free and easy to use for both U.S. and international applicants.
   • You may save your data and return to the application as many times as you wish before submitting it; we will confirm after we receive your application.
   • Once submitted, you cannot view or update your application. Please print or save a copy of the application before submitting. Any new information must be uploaded or sent by letter, fax or email.
   • We do not require nor accept the CSS Profile for applying for aid at Princeton.
   • We recommend that you view the Family and Household Status, Income Documentation and Reporting Your Assets and Expenses pages as they provide useful tips for completing your application.
2. Upload a copy of your parents’ 2023 signed tax return and W-2 statements
   • Once you submit the PFAA, you’ll be able to upload tax documents. The required documents can be uploaded in the appropriate document type field. If needed, you can use the “other” field for additional documents.
   • The signed tax return upload should include the Form 1040 federal income tax return, all schedules, W-2 statements, schedule K-1s, and business returns, if applicable.
   • If your parent(s) does not file a U.S. tax return, you must submit an additional document in its place.
   • Please review the Income Documentation page to be sure to submit the correct information.
3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
   • If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are required to submit a FAFSA as part of your aid application.
   • Make sure to include Princeton’s federal school code, 002627, on the form to ensure we receive your completed FAFSA.
4. Submit noncustodial parent information
   • If your parents are divorced, separated or unmarried and living in separate households, and your custodial parent is not (re)married, you are required to complete the noncustodial parent’s form to be considered for need-based aid at Princeton.
